What closes with the dashboard
Oura has said its web dashboard shuts down in September 2026. Two things live there and nowhere else: the only view that lets you put one of your numbers against another, and the download button that hands you your data as CSV on the spot.
The ring is unaffected. The scores keep arriving every morning. What goes is the half that answered questions about them — and the exit that let you take the record with you without asking anyone.
Keep asking why the score moved
Sleep and readiness stay the outcome. Everything else you already track becomes a possible explanation for them: last night’s training, the hours on a screen before bed, a late workout, a habit you have been meaning to test.
Days with the behaviour are matched against days without, and the answer comes back in your own units — so many fewer minutes asleep, so many points off readiness — rather than as a coefficient. Every comparison a run makes is corrected together, so a long list of questions cannot manufacture a finding by asking enough of them, and pairs that are two names for the same measurement are set aside instead of reported.
Sleep, cardio and activity metrics share their names with Apple Health and WHOOP, so a ring on one hand and a phone in your pocket land on the same lines rather than in two parallel records.

Where a published cohort exists, your resting heart rate, your HRV and your sleep can be read against it — with the study, the pool it was drawn from and the arithmetic printed on the methods page, and our own names for the bands flagged as ours. No proprietary score nobody outside the company can check.
An export that stays a button
The complete record downloads from Settings whenever you want it: every measurement with its timestamp, unit and tags, plus your journal, goals, dashboards and source settings — as one machine-readable file or a zip of CSVs. Not a summary, not a support request, and not something that can be closed on you.
Deleting the account is the same two clicks, and takes the data with it.

Press Connect and approve it at Oura. There is no developer account to register, no application to fill in and no token to paste — personal access tokens stopped being issued in December 2025, and this connects through our own Oura application instead.
Collection then runs on its own every morning in your own timezone, and each run re-reads a trailing week rather than only yesterday. That is deliberate: Oura re-scores after the fact — a late nap re-totals the day, a night gets re-analyzed when the ring finally syncs, and readiness is recomputed from the revised night — and re-reading the week is the only way those revisions ever reach your record.
How far back it reaches: connecting asks Oura for your past as well as your present, a month at a time from today backwards, on its own. It moves at about a month every three seconds while the page is open, carries on in the background after you close it, and stops only once it has walked a year of empty months past the ring’s first night. Every ring we have measured came back complete to that first night: the newest was first worn this January and every night since is here, and none was old enough to find a limit on Oura’s side. If one exists we have not reached it, and this paragraph will say so the day we do.

Honest correlations need months of overlapping history, so the best time to start collecting was months ago. The second best is now.
